davis.jpgBen Davis

He is currently the Tech Liaison for the Red Mountain Writing Project. He started TeachEng.Us with the hopes that it would become a lifehacker.com for teachers. The only way that can happen is through the submissions by teaching professionals that inspire and encourage others through joining in the symphony of our craft. kevin.jpgKevin “dogtrax” Hodgson

Kevin Hodgson teaches sixth grade and is the technology liaison for the Western Massachusetts Writing Project . He is in his sixth year of teaching, after a decade as a newspaper journalist. He got tired of writing about the ineptitude of government and decided that his time would be better spent in the classroom, where he could really make a difference (he hopes). In his free time, Kevin writes stories and poems and music, and he is a singer, saxophonist and guitarist (not in that order) in a rock and roll band, The Sofa Kings, that is always on the far, far edge of stardom. You may never have heard of them. His various technology projects include his classroom blog, The Electronic Pencil, and the global podcasting site, Youth Radio. Kevin also seeks to find new ways to collaborate with other teachers, including the Day in a Sentence feature and the Collaborative ABC Movie Project.

James “Linus” Dykstra

James teaches history, computers and a variety of other things at Linden Christian School in Winnipeg, Manitoba. As part of that role he’s involved with the Red River Regional Heritage Fair (www.redriverheritage.ca). When not blogging here, he muses about technology in the class at Befuddled (www.befuddled.info).

erichoefler.jpgEric Hoefler

Eric Hoefler taught English and creative writing at Woodbridge Senior High School’s Center for the Fine and Performing Arts (CFPA) in Woodbridge, Virginia for the past nine years. While there, he helped to design and implement the CFPA program and the Center’s four-year creative writing program. In 1999, he created a community-based website for teachers of English and creative writing at the school, which originally connected students through forum discussions but grew to include profiles, blogs, and file sharing. During that time, Eric also helped to develop and teach an online creative writing course as part of the county’s Virtual High School initiative. In 2001, Eric became the Technology Liaison for the Northern Virginia Writing Project (NVWP), housed at George Mason University. Through that service, he has helped to integrate online technologies into the Project’s work and has led numerous workshops that help teachers to understand how emerging online technologies can further improve the teaching of writing. Currently, Eric is working with a contracting agency for the Children’s Bureau to help bring online solutions to the Child Welfare Reform Project, and he continues to work with teachers through his role with NVWP.
